The story of No. 51 early 2010s

Wild At Heart

A shoe shiner on the pavement, and inside a haircut, teeth whitening, flowers, a wedding dress or a party.

Wild At Heart was a separate business from me:me, and by all accounts one of the more unusual things to have occupied No. 51.

When Bristol 24/7 reviewed the café that came next, its writer remembered Wild At Heart for the shoe shiner who worked on the pavement outside, and for an interior where you could have your hair cut, your teeth whitened, your flowers arranged, your wedding dress found and your party held.

A premises licence was granted for the building in 2012. We do not yet know which business it was for.

If you remember Wild At Heart, ran it or worked there, we would love to hear about it.

Do you remember Broad Street?

A coffee and an email at NetGates in 1996, a haircut at Wild At Heart, brunch at Ironworks, or a desk in the offices upstairs: if you have a photo or a story about No. 51 or its neighbours, from any decade, we would love to see it.
