A guildhall has stood here since at least the fourteenth century. In 1788 the medieval hall hosted Bristol’s first public meeting against the slave trade. The present Gothic building, by Richard Shackleton Pope, dates from 1846 and housed the city’s courts for many years. See the Guildhall and the 1788 meeting.

Do you remember Broad Street?

A coffee and an email at NetGates in 1996, a haircut at Wild At Heart, brunch at Ironworks, or a desk in the offices upstairs: if you have a photo or a story about No. 51 or its neighbours, from any decade, we would love to see it.
