Tailors Court

A lane off Broad Street with the Merchant Tailors’ Guild Hall of 1740.

Tailors Court is a small lane leading off Broad Street. It contains the Merchant Tailors’ Guild Hall, built in 1740. The area was full of lawyers’ offices and is now mostly student accommodation. The churchyard of St John on the Wall can be reached from here.

Do you remember Broad Street?

A coffee and an email at NetGates in 1996, a haircut at Wild At Heart, brunch at Ironworks, or a desk in the offices upstairs: if you have a photo or a story about No. 51 or its neighbours, from any decade, we would love to see it.
